Here's from our (Gunilla Larsson and May-Britt Öhman) second attempt to find Koivovallen - a forest Sámi residence - which was restored in the 1930s by H. Ullenius. Until the 1960s school children came here to visit and to learn about Sámi history. But then it was taken out of commission as military interests took over, it is in the vicinity of the military air base in Jokkmokk. Today it is difficult to find and no online maps are available. Signs are fending off the public. This is a cultural heritage that needs to be restored. We will keep our eyes on this for sure. Photo: May-Britt Öhman
Nedan finns youtube videor med korta presentationer av Fil.Dr Gunilla Larsson, om Koivovallen, Jokkmokk, samt Skällarim lappskatteland.
Below are links to video filmed short talks by Dr. Gunilla Larsson at and about Koivovallen - in Swedish - September 21, 2014.

Häbbre - Ajtte - storage hut - at Koivovallen, a forest Sámi residence, within the Skällarim lappskatteland (lap - tax - land) Jokkmokk. It was really hard to find this place, as it is nowadays taken out from maps due to the military using the air as a base. A shame as it is the only preserved forest Sámi heritage in the area and should be opened up to the public again. Photo: Gunilla Larsson
