Mauna Kea - Destruction and violence in the name of Science?!

Are you following what is going on in Hawai'i right now?

State of emergency has been proclaimed as Indigenous peoples and allies are protecting their sacred mountain from being desecrated, in the name of Science. It is a large corporation, with several universities, that consider it OK to destroy a sacred mountain to have a closer look at Universe. Would they do that to Notre Dame? To the Vatican? Wouldn't think so. There would be an outrage on global level. But not so for Mauna Kea, well not yet.

Please see report from Al Jazeera here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYpLme9G_C0

I have posted an opinion and information piece on what is going around at the sacred mountain of Mauna Kea, at the Sámi Land Free University blog.  In Swedish. To alert people , and in particular the science community, in Sweden, the Nordic countries and Sápmi about what is going on.
I am wondering if the  @TMTHawaii & @UHIfA hoping for #NobelPrize for finding life elsewhere in universe while destroying this sacred mountain? Well,  I will make sure it does not pass unnoticed. Science needs to be  sustainable ! Science cannot be promoted at the cost of violence and colonisation.  Science needs to respect Indigenous Peoples rights, human rights, there are conventions for that - the  #undrip  and also a complete agenda for sustainability. - the #2030Agenda.

Science people, people in Sweden, science community, Sámi, Sápmi, people in Europe and the Nordic countries - time to step up, to the defense of a Science that is sustainable and works with ethical protocols, respecting human rights and indigenous peoples, as well as water, animals and environment.

Right?
Hope to see/hear your voice out there!
